Galapagos Travel

Most visitors to the Galápagos archipelago arrive by way of the airport on Baltra, which originally served as a United States Navy base. There are no visitor sites or accommodations on Baltra, and the only facilities available here relate to air traffic and transportation. From the airport, visitors can catch an airline-sponsored bus either to the channel—where a ferry takes passengers across the thin stretch of water to Santa Cruz —or to the port—where passengers with pre-arranged tours meet their boat.
